Janet Johnson 07/16/1952- 03/06/2023

Janet Johnson 07/16/1952- 03/06/2023

A lover of life, a smile that could brighten any room.
Janet was a beautiful, kind and loving person with the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known.
She would give you her last piece of food if you needed it.. the shirt off of her back with no question.

Janet lived her life as she wanted, she enjoyed every second of it and she made
SO many friends along the way.

Her love of riding the open road, being on her Harley with that rumble between her legs
(she would tell you how exciting that was) that love fueled her. It gave her so much joy.

Harleys, friends, and family. That was Janet.

Sunshine (JJs daughter) , Hollie Poulin (JJs niece) and I (Heather Follen JJs niece)
are putting this GoFundMe page together in hopes that we can make beautiful memories together celebrating my aunts life.

We created this fundraiser
in hopes that we can give Janet the celebration of life that she so dearly deserves.
We want to make it as special as she was and have the chance to come together
 and celebr
ate her beautiful life.

Earlier this morning we all lost a legend...love him or not he left a
lasting impact on all those he met.

Bandido Billy De 1%er (William Hunter) passed away May 11, 2021.

Billy De was married to the love of his life, Barb, for 37 years.  Together they were heavily involved in the Spanaway Speedway scene with Billy De driving cars #11 & #1. Billy De was well connected with the speedway meeting so many along the way.   They set up H.A.R.T. Racing which rented out race cars to people who had never raced before and wanted to give it a try.  He owned a Sportscard & memorbilla shop in Spanaway and a few Used Car lots also.

Billy De was a longtime member of the Bandidos MC.  His love for his brothers was unquestionable and ran deep.  He would do anything for them and they in-turn were by his and Barbs side until the end.

Billy De restarted the Abate of Washington, Spanaway Chapter in 2012 and grew it to over 400 members.  He and Barb also volunteered for Abate of Washington and traveled around the state talking with other chapters, giving them ideas on how to increase their membership and promoting what Abate was all about.

Billy De volunteered for B.A.S.H. for many years and did his best to make sure anyone who needed food, received it.  He loved helping out seniors and those less fortunate...his giving heart was almost as big as his smile.

Billy De loved to travel and spending time with friends.  He cherished the last few road trips with Barb, Rock & Libbie, Camping it up in the RV whether it be to Texas or Montana for his brothers or visiting the Grand Canyon and ghost towns.

Now is our time to give back to Billy De...if you are able to spare a Few Dollars please be assured that all funds will be used for Billy De.  Much love and respect

June 5, memorial service 1130am, 3pm Rumors gathering to celebrate Billy De.

Mic Cain "Leprechaun"

Given to us: December 22, 1954
Scottsbluff, Nebraska

Intrigued into mischief by the twinkle in his eye
Or pushed by his example to just
give it one more try. Tickled into laughter by some
Blarney that head spun
Delightedly we joined in any song that head begun.
Swept away by romance at a
thoughtful, loving word.
Believing in each other,
Forgiveness was ensured.
Inspired into Brotherhood
through hugs, good fun and cheer. The world was a better place because:
 The Leprechaun was here!

James Suddoth "57 years old"
"Amigo A. J., State Ambassador"
from Kent, WA was killed late Saturday night 01/16/10 after he crashed
on Highway 512  near South Hill Mall in Puyallup, WA
and was then run over by three vehicles.

Amigo A.J., was riding his 2007 Harley-Davidson Road King
East on Highway 512 near 104th Street East when he had to swerve
around a piece of corrugated steel in his path
he then lost control and
hit the cable barrier on the median.
When he hit the barrier, he was thrown from his motorcycle.

A.J.'s  riding partner was waving his arms and trying to get the traffic to stop,
maybe if the people in the cars had been paying more attention
they could have avoided hitting him.

A.J., landed back on the highway, where he was struck by three vehicles.  Two of the vehicles, a 2003 Nissan Altima and a 2002 Chevy S-10 pickup, stopped after hitting him, but a third vechicle,
described as a light-colored 4-door car, sped off.

Amigo A.J., died at the scene.  No one in the vehicles that stopped after hitting him were hurt.  WSP does not expect any charges to be filed.

Aj, was a Real Biker & a good personal friend.
He was a Strong fighter for our motorcycle rights & freedoms.
What happened was very tragic. Aj will be missed by us all.
He had always greeted me with a hand shake & a hug of respect.

Special posting for the 4 Slain Lakewood, WA Police Officers

The Lakewood officers were killed by a lone gunman Nov. 29 before the start
of their shift. Authorities say Maurice Clemmons singled them out and spared employees and other customers at the coffee shop in Parkland,
a Tacoma suburb about 35 miles south of Seattle.

Floral arrangements lined the stage at the sports arena, as well as two motorcycles,
a drum set and a NASCAR race car. Griswold and Owens both loved motorcycles,
Owens & Richards played the drums, and Renninger was a big NASCAR fan.

Oregon State Police Sgt. Andrew Merila said Alan G. Gelvin, 55, was traveling south on his Harley Davidson motorcycle on U.S. Highway 101 about 3:20 p.m. when he lost control on a sharp right curve. The motorcycle slid into the northbound lane and went underneath an oncoming 2000 Toyota Tacoma pickup.

The pickup driver, Edward Jones, 62, of Scappoose, tried to steer to the right to avoid the motorcycle, but was unable to do so, Merila said. The pickup came to a stop straddling the fog line along the northbound shoulder.

Gelvin, who was wearing a protective helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jones and his wife, Carol Jones, 59, were transported by ambulance to Providence Seaside Hospital to be evaluated for possible injuries.

OSP troopers from the Astoria Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Personnel from the Cannon Beach Police Department, Cannon Beach Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted at the scene. The Clatsop County medical examiner also responded. The highway was closed until 5:40 p.m. during the investigation.

and friend to whomever he met along the road.

Rob Belts

10/4/62 - 09/22/09

Rob "IM ROB" Belts rode home on September 22nd 2009 to be with our Heavenly Father,
his loving family near his side.
Robert Paul Belts was born October 4th, 1962 in Eugene, Oregon to Dr. & Mrs. Richard Belts. Since Dr. Belts was in the Army Medical Corps, Rob and his family moved several times before settling in Steilacoom, Washington where Rob graduated from Lakes High School in 1980.

He battled as a valiant warrior against lung cancer, never giving up. Rob is survived by his wife Robin, both parents, Dick and Leah Belts of Steilacoom, WA, grandmother Iris Purvis of Oregon, sister Laura DeCaterina (Peter), two sons, Ryan and Corbin, stepdaughter Alexis, niece Anna.

Rob had several jobs as a young person and it wasn't until he started working for the local Harley-Davidson shop where he really found his niche. He was able to combine his creative interests, technical abilities and affable people skills.  Rob had a multitude of life-long customers & friends during his tenure with Harley- Davidson where he worked in many departments, the latest as Sales Manager at Destination Harley-Davidson in Fife, WA.

He carried a fierce loyalty and dedication for both Harley motorcycles & the company where he worked for the past 20 years. Rob's passion for motorcycles began at an early age and only deepened through his final days where he dreamed of having tools in his hand, working on cycles; his most cherished task that he so enjoyed.

Rob loved to ride to his sister's restaurant in Puyallup and park his latest cycle on the sidewalk within view, friends in tow, to socialize, laugh and enjoy all things Harley, purple and family.
He appreciated anything purple; the color his grandmother adored and instilled in him at a very early age. Purple items were found, bought, given, shared & saved just because they were purple.

Rob n Robin enjoyed owning matching Concord Purple Harley's, riding side-by-side and with friends. Rob also had an affinity for the number 13, as his 'lucky number' he called it. Good things happen to me with that number he'd say and he was right.

After starting in the Parts and Accessories department Rob quickly became the department manager. After realizing there was a large Pre-Owned Harley-Davidson market and that Rob was the go-to-guy on Used bikes, Rob was made our Used Bike Manager. Next Rob was made our New Harley-Davidson Sale Manager. The numbers Rob put up on the Used and New side of the business have never been matched. Anyone who knows Rob knows that the secret to Rob's success was his personality and the way he treats people.
From Robin:
Friends, Last evening late, Rob received his purple angel wings ...

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around you and whispered "Come with me"

With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you fade away,
Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, you are now at peaceful rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the Best!

We will miss you Rob! Rest in Peace Brother.

The most important thing in life ....
is to live your life for something

We are all in the same boat in a stormy sea, and we owe each other a terrible loyalty.
The Lord will either calm your storm,

Warren Middleton 53 years old
 Died Aug 6th. 2009
He was killed Thursday when his Motorcycle
collided with a minivan near the Edmonds ferry terminal.

Edmonds police Sgt. Don Anderson said the 53-year-old
Port Orchard man died at the scene,
but the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Warren Middleton, Lived in Port Orchard

He was a regular customer at the
Manchester Pub & Bethel Tavern in Port Orchard
Warren Rode a Harley

This From: duck956 a witness

I was riding right next to this guy when this collision occurred and saw it
happen. I'd chatted with him at the Kingston ferry dock in the motorcycle area
and he seemed like a decent guy. He was an experienced rider and was
 wearing a full-face helmet.

He and I were the first two bikes off of the ferry. I had the left lane, he had the
right lane. He was not riding fast or recklessly. He was riding at about the same
pace that I was. The light turned yellow, I decided to stop, he decided to go
through. He easily and legally made it through the yellow light when the
minivan pulled a left turn in front of him. He clearly had the right of way and the
 collision was not his fault.

My best guess is that he was distracted by watching the light and did not see
the minivan pull in front of him, nor did the minivan appear to see him. If you're
a rider then the lesson you can learn from this tragedy is not to get distracted
watching the yellow light and to keep your guard up at all times.

The EMTs did not spend much time before covering him so I assume
(hope) that he died on impact and did not suffer.

From: Warrens Niece, Warren; the driver of the motorcycle was my uncle.
He was a great and ingenious man. I thank everyone who has given their condolences.

There will be a Wake at 3pm on August 15th at the High Tide Tavern in Port Orchard.
if anyone knew him & wants to come you are very much welcome.
This will also be my 21st birthday and I can't think of a better way to remember him
than by spending time at his favorite hang out with his biker family.

Any riders who wish to ride to the Wake in a group. Meet at the
Poodle Dog parking lot in Fife, WA Saturday at 1pm.

Type of Accident: Motorcycle Crash
 Accident Date: 9-2-08
 Accident location: Sumner, WA

 Riders Name: Barry Miller
 Riders Info: ABATE of WA
 East Pierce County Chapter Member

Barry Miller, was on his motorcycle yesterday afternoon while on way to
Puyallup to visit friends when he lost control of his bike on Houston street.
He was taken to Good Samaritan hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:25PM.

 Information Submitted By: Glenn Miller
ABATE of WASHINGTON
East Pierce County Chapter member & His Father
Cell Phone:  253-686-8866

 Update 09/05/08

I just talked to Glenn and Mary Miller and the memorial for Barry will be at the Methodist church
in Sumner at 3:00 PM on Tuesday 9/9/08. The address is 901 Wood, Ave. Sumner, WA

They have requested as many bikes as possible be there because Barry loved to ride.
Glenn told me that it was a freak accident. Barry was turning down by the Old Cannery in Sumner
and he apparently caught his running board on the lane divider bumps and he was thrown over
his handle bars and broke his neck. He apparently died instantly.

Mary and Glenn have asked that a donation be made in Barry's name instead of flowers
to the Nicholas and Barry Miller Memorial Fund at US Bank.

I asked them to come to the Swap Meet on Sunday and they will be there. They need big hugs
from the "ABATE family" so everyone bring a full flask so we can make a toast and show our
support for our family members. Please spread the work.

ABATE of WASHINGTON
Olympia Chapter

Rick Courtney "Two Tone"

http://forums.delphiforums.com/doa51/messages?msg=804.1

ABATE of WA Olympia Chapter Member Rick Courtney
Went down on his bike Sunday the 4th On Old Hwy 99.
He left the road and hit a tree.  He was air lifted to Harborview Hospital and was in the ICU.  He has been
a Olympia member since 2006 and has been to many of our events.  He is 46 and is married to Susan
and they live with their children. Rick has many injuries but, so far he is beating this situation.  However
they are keeping him in a drugged state so he can heal and has had several surgeries to fix broken
bones, lacerated liver and spleen, broken pelvis and more but for right now there is nothing we can do but,
wait to see how he does. Going up there to see him is ok and there are no limits but, remember that he is
asleep to heal and there is nothing you can do.  He is in surgery a lot and not very good company right
now. The family is doing great with everything. However, Susan says she is getting called by so many
family and friends that it is hard for her to do stuff.  So Stick has a forum on the link below that she is
updating to help with the phone traffic.  She has sprint and is out of minutes to talk to non sprint numbers.
So if you could check the DOA site and read the blogs that would really help.  Susan is just trying to focus
on being his voice for his care and she knows she has so many friends out there and will call if she needs
anything.  Thank you all so much from her.  Yes he is really banged up but he is doing good.  It will be
awhile to heal and get better and find out the extent of his injury's but Susan and the doctors are feeling
really positive.   We may have some fundraisers coming up so keep watch for them.

 Update May 7th. 2008

Hey everyone,  Here is a update on Rick Courtney.  I went up last night to see Susan and right now there
is nothing we can do but, wait to see how he does. Going up there to see him is ok and there are no limits
but, remember that he is asleep to heal and there is nothing you can do.  It is hard for Susan because she
is getting called by so many family and friends that it is hard for her to do stuff. So Stick has a forum on the
link below that she is updating to help with the phone traffic.  She has sprint and is out of minutes to talk to
non sprint numbers.  So if you could check the DOA site and read the blogs that would really help. He has
surgery today that will take all day and then recovery.  So no big answers until tomorrow.  Susan is just
trying to focus on being his voice for his care and she knows she has so many friends out there and will
call if she needs anything. Thank you all from her. Yes he is really banged up but he is doing good.

It will be awhile to heal and get better and find out the extent of his injury's
but Susan and the doctors are feeling really positive.

Thanks Darcy and see you at the meeting tomorrow.

Subject: sad news

I hate to be the bearer of bad news;

I have just been informed that Rick "Two Tone" Courtney has succumbed to the injuries sustained related his motorcycle accident on May 4th. He gave it a good fight for the past 12 days but the injuries were just too severe.

He left behind a wonderful wife and two children, many other family and friends.
Please pray for peace for all his loved ones.

I will let you know when there is info on the funeral.

Rick Courtney's Memorial Service will be this Friday the 23rd 2008
At: 11:30am At the:
 Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery
A celebration of life party will follow at the VFW in Olympia, WA

The cemetery will stage us prior to the service so you need to check with the staff
at the gate and they will direct you (in case you don't see all the bikes) also keep in mind
it is a Friday just before a three day weekend that means heavier traffic.

I want to tell everyone who plans to attend "Thank You".

For those of you that don't know where these are located I have added links to maps.

The VFW is giving us the use of the hall at no charge and has it has a bar
that they will be staffing for us. Kori is trying to get the food part done and has volunteered
to set up the hall but is asking for any help with the purchase and transport of the food.
We are wanting to plan a memorial ride down Hwy 7 to Morton to scatter some of Rick's ashes
as this was his favorite ride, so if anyone has input or suggestions
of places to stop for food and drink that would be great!

Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery Map Link

VFW Olympia WA Link:

DOA 51 will be riding up to Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery
 from NW Harley in Lacey.
We will be leaving at 10am.
Everyone is invited to ride with us.

On Wednesday, November 14,one of Tennessee’s most respected Freedom Fighters, Michael L. Hays (Twanger), died at his home in Nolensville of a heart attack. Mike was born in Pulaski, TN on June 17, 1955 to Harold Dean Hughes and Doris Ellen Baker Hughes Hays, who have both preceded him in death, as well as his respected step-father, Freeman C. Hays, M.D.

An avid motorcyclist, he was the State Legislative Corporate Director for CMT/ABATE, the state-wide motorcyclists rights organization, as well as that organization’s lobbyist. He was also a member of the Motorcycle Riders Foundation in Washington, DC, and recently lobbied on their behalf in the US Congress. Mr. Hays was also the sole proprietor his agency, Midsouth Talent & Booking.  Prior to living in Nashville, Mike had been a radio announcer in Orange, VA,  toured with his band, Mike Hays and the Haybailers, and prior to that had spent many years selling specialty audio equipment. Michael entered the US Navy in 1974, served  honorably, and at the time of his discharge 1978 was a member of the Admiral’s band as singer and saxophonist.

Mike is survived by his immediate family: one brother; Paul M Hays (Cindy), Washington, DC and three sisters; Barbara Thomas (Cam), Underwood, WA, Pamela Johnson (Shannon), Elizabethton, TN, and Patricia Ruth Emory (Jimmy), Richmond, VA. Also surviving are his daughter, Michelle Diana Williams (Indianapolis, IN), two granddaughters Savannah & Taylor, and grandson Bishop.   Mike will also be deeply missed by his life partner, Carol Simpson of Nolensville, her three children and six grandchildren, and additionally, by a true army of Brother & Sister Freedom Fighters and many of his friends in the music industry.

Visitation will be Monday, Nov 19,from 3pm to 5:45pm at Woodbine Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road. The funeral service will be held at the same location beginning at 6pm. A buffet remembrance reception , hosted by brother Paul will be held at Mike and Carol’s home immediately following the service.

On Tuesday, Nov 20 a procession led by the Patriot Guard will take Mike’s remains from Hickory Chapel
at 9:00 a.m. to Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski where he will be laid to rest at 11 a.m. near to his father,
Mr. Hughes, and his paternal grandparents.

Mike Hays was a man of faith, and had been close to the Methodist Church throughout his lifetime.

Staging time will be 1:30 PM (1330), ride briefing at 1:45 (1345) and establish the flag line at 2:00 PM (1400).  There is really no good place to stage and ride en masse to the church without encountering a lot of lights and traffic so for the sake of safety and expedience we will go ahead and meet at the church.

Getting to 8815 NE Glisan:  From I-205 southbound, take the Glisan St. exit.  Turn right at the stoplight.  The church is on the right about 6 blocks down.  From I-205 northbound, take the Glisan St. exit.  Turn left at the stoplight and the church will be on the right about 8 blocks down.  From I-84 eastbound, take the I-205 south exit.  Stay in the right lane as it will take you onto the Glisan exit.  Turn right to the church.  From I-84 westbound, take the I-205 south exit.  Stay in the right lane to the Glisan exit.  Turn right to the church.

Scott Anderson

Below is the Letter to Editor of: (BFB) From  LLISMEL@aol.com

I'm not sure who I need to contact or speak to about this.
I was involved in a very bad accident on August 12,2007 in Wickenburg AZ on Yarnell Hill.
I was critically injured & my boy friend Scott Anderson, who I was riding with died.
I'd like to add him on your page if possible & also if I can get help it would be extremely appreciated.
I was able to just recently go back to work.
My leg was broken in 4 places
I was in car sales, But for now I have to make do as the receptionist which doesn't pay the bills to well.

I'm told until I'm 100% & released from my doctors care I'm a liability!
I've enclosed a picture of Scott Anderson.

Thank you again for all your help

Russ Tom

Russ Tom, perished in a helicopter crash on
October 8th, 2006 while piloting his small helicopter over Lake Tapps.

Russ Tom, the son of Carmen Tom, is best known for taking over his fathers motorcycle business,
Downtown Harley-Davidson in Seattle Washington in the late 1990’s.
The dealership was later moved to Tukwila and eventually purchased by Bob Lanphere Jr. in 2005.

ABATE of WA & all the other Motorcycle rights organizations will surely miss Russ Tom.
Russ was always Generous in his support for the Motorcycle community.

It is with a deep sadness that we acknowledge the loss of a Northwest friend and icon Russ Tom.
Russ, who was well known for his custom motorcycles and his love of all motorsports,
was a driving force in the world of motorcycling.
Whether it was a Harley or a Honda, Russ had a passion for all things motorcycle.
His innovative designs and signature ideas were instantly recognizable in his custom creations
that helped to make DHD and Downtown Harley-Davidson a Northwest brand name and leader in the industry.

Russ had a strong interest in helping others to succeed
which was evident in those that worked with him, as well as in the charitable rides
that he helped put together for Boyer's Children's Clinic and others.
Russ will be missed, though our love for him will continue.

It is a mixed blessing that our sister, Joann Kaye (North Olympic Chapter), went home to the Lord this morning 9/6/2006.

I know she had made her peace with God and she is free of the pain and suffering of the cancer ravaging her earthly body.

I was blessed to have seen her on Monday when all the CVI brothers and sisters gathered for her bon voyage potluck. I am blessed to have known her and called her friend. She will be missed.

ABATE OF WASHINGTON
Member SKCC

KAREN BOLIN

Hi all, I just got home from the hospital. Because of the overnight improvement
in Karen's numbers (kidney and blood) at 3:30pm they put her on
pre-chemo chemicals, or as we are going to look at it, launched the
landing craft. To continue in that light, at about 5:45 the Marines
landed on the beach and the first shots from the good guys were fired.
When her doctor returns on Monday, we should know what the future will
look like. When we do, I will let you know.
For now, thank you all for
your support.
John

KAREN BOLIN

Hi all,
The doctor was in with the pathology results from the University of
Washington. They are not good. Karen does not have a lymphoma. She
has cervical cancer.
She remains in the hospital where she has been since Tuesday. They
thought that they had the poor kidney function and anemia under control
until today. Last night, they internalized the stints and inserted a
porta-cath. All was looking good until she was unable to produce urine.
At about 3pm they inserted a catheter and she began producing so that
cleared up and they hung a bag of whole blood which cleared up the blood
problems before. She is in a lot of discomfort - both pain and pressure
- so she is fairly heavily drugged. All of you can imagine how Karen
feels about being of fogged mind.
If all goes well, sometime this weekend, they will start chemo-therapy.
As more news is available, I will pass it along.
John

KAREN BOLIN
Karen B- Update 10 September
I have something that will make you all a little more cheerful today.
Yesterday there was a marked improvement in Karen's urine output. From red it became almost normal.
Today it is better yet. They think that they have the bleeding solved and her bowels have come back to life.
I will go out on a limb and say that if things continue along these lines and her blood remains stable,
they may let her come home on Monday. You guys have been hearing the bad for so long,
I figured you might like a little of the good.

Final Update 10/31/06

"The Lord has taken one of our own"

The officers and members of ABATE of Washington, wish to extend our deepest
sympathies to the Family and Friends of Karen Bolin, who lost her battle with
cancer today- 30 October 2006. Check back later for Info on services.

It is with deep sadness that I must report that my dear friend Lucy Haisch lost her five year battle with cancer this past Saturday, July 8th. Lucy who was 56 years young passed peacefully in the early morning hours in her home.
She gave it her best effort to beat this devastating disease, five years of chemo therapy and all the side effects, many hospital stays and was always hopeful until near the end. She just kept on goin', never complained about her pain or discomfort.
She was an active member of ABATE N. Kitsap chapter as well as with many other activities in the community. Those who had the privilege of knowing Lucy will always remember her as an extremely caring and generous woman with a good heart, willing to help out whenever, or wherever she could!! While we are sad for our loss, we are relieved for Lucy, we pray that she is in a much better place free of all her pain, riding "Blue" her bike, which was her passion!

that he rode cross country and seemed to always be tuning or replacing parts on.
His bike tool bag was always in use. Another one of his passions was family.
Didn’t matter if it was his son, father, or “extended” family he was always there to lend a helping hand.
He didn’t command respect, it was always given to him and in return he gave the same.

Sig would love for his friends and family not to mourn his death but to celebrate his life and live as if today
could be your last. He will be missed by all and will always be in our hearts and souls.
“Peace, live in it or rest in it.”

There will be a celebration of Sig’s life that will be held at Galloping Gerties bar and grill at 15417 Union
Avenue SW Tillicum, WA. (253) 588-7131 on Sunday, April 23rd at 2:00pm.
Donations can be made at the service.

The passing of Jerry Graham's sister Linda Henriksen

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Jerry Graham's sister Linda Henriksen who died as a result of a motorcycle accident Sunday July 17th, 2005. She hit a guard rail on the 105 exit near the Capital in Olympia. We have not been able to find out yet, why she hit the rail. Doug, her husband, was in front of her and did not see her go down. Linda was the former head of the Motorcycle Safety Course and was presently the Head of the License plate department. She worked with the Legislation on a big scale. She was a kind sweet person who did do a lot for the biking community.

940 Isreal Rd SW

BOB HARRIS

Thursday, February 26th, 2004
IN MEMORY OF BOB HARRIS
Bob Harris, the original Rolling Bones, died Thursday, February 26th, 2004 at 11:30 p.m. from Pancreatic cancer.
I have a great deal of respect for Bob and will miss him very much.

Bob was the first man to introduce me to ABATE and fighting for our rights.
He truly fueled my passion for riding; something Bob loved to do and never let anything stop him.
He was a man of many words and great character. After almost every ride he would detail our adventures in his Tales
from the Bones. Looking back on some of the situations we got ourselves into is inspiring and funny.
Bob was determined to live life to the fullest, and he did.
He always had a smile for everyone and was always there when you needed him.

About a year and a half ago, Bob moved to Phoenix, Arizona to get away from the cold North.
 But he never quit riding.
He met and married a wonderful woman, Judy, and soon after was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer.
He fought hard and never gave in. His smile never faded.

I will miss Bob Harris, as will many others and will always remember him for the way he lived, his friendship,
his passion for life and his passion for riding.

CeCe Sorrells

****Thursday May 15th 2003****
CeCe Sorrells a member of ABATE of Washington East Pierce County Chapter
 suddenly passed away.
Funeral will be in Tacoma on Thursday at 1 o'clock at:
Mountain Veiw on the corner of Steilicoom & S. Tacoma Way.
Pack will be leaving Cloud 9 about 12:15.

CeCe passed away suddenly on Friday the 9th of May.
She owned the Could 9 Tavern in Tacoma for 22 years.
CeCe was a person who often helped others.
She was quick to forgive those who had wronged her.
She cared about ABATE and was always ready to offer ideas that would be of help to the
organization. She even had my cell phone number written on the back of her membership card
so that when she thought of an idea she could pass it along. As a neighbor of hers for the
past 9 years one could always count on her to be in the yard working on something,
whether it was the yard or busy cutting out figures from plywood to paint and give away.
We have three different sized wooden cats that she made for us because she thought that we
would enjoy them. You could go to CeCe and have a good talk with the knowledge that what you
had to say would stay with her. The many people that knew her will miss her and things won't
seem the same without her around.
I will post further information as it becomes available.

Tragic Loss of MRF President Buck Kittredge

It is with great sadness and tremendous loss that the Motorcycle Riders Foundation's Board of Directors reports the untimely death of MRF President and friend Nathan "Buck" Kittredge. Buck's life was taken just before 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2003 in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident less than 10 miles from his home in Wisconsin. The exact cause of the accident remains unknown. Buck was 56 years old and leaves behind his beloved wife Carolyn and his two sons Jesse and Travis, as well as a worldwide family of motorcyclists' rights activists with whom he had served for many years. Tom Wyld, MRF Vice President of Government Relations, echoed the sentiments of the entire motorcyclists' rights community upon hearing the tragic news. "We are all numb, grief-stricken and in utter disbelief at this unfathomable loss, and our hearts are one with Carolyn and the rest of the Kittredge family. We will carry on, as Buck would have us do, guided by this wonderful man's spirit and his unflagging devotion to his family, to his cause, and to each and every one of us. "Visitation and a memorial service will be held for Buck on Thursday, April 24 at Jones Funeral Home, 107 Franklin Street, Oconto Falls, Wisconsin 54154, (920)848-2222. Visitation hours will be from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the memorial service beginning at 7:00 p.m. There will be an open microphone remembrances period immediately following the memorial service during which Buck's friends and family will be given the opportunity to share their tributes and memories. In lieu of flowers, the MRF asks that you please forward contributions to the Buck Kittredge Memorial Fund, c/o Wells Fargo Bank, 225 E. Central Avenue, Oconto Falls, WI 54154. Since 1966, Buck had ridden his various motorcycles through 49 states from his home base in Wisconsin. He first became involved with motorcyclists' rights when he became a life member of the American Motorcyclist Association. He was heavily involved with ABATE of Wisconsin starting in 1985, served as Executive Director of ABATE of Wisconsin from 1994-2000, and was well known for his lobbying efforts for motorcyclists' rights and safety in Washington DC beginning in 1991. "Buck and I started in bikers' rights together almost eighteen years ago," said Ed Williams, the current Executive Director of ABATE of Wisconsin. "At that time, neither of us had any idea how far it would take us. There is no way I can express in words how much Buck will be missed. I promise you, my friend we will not let you down. We will finish all that you started and we will continue to fight for our right to ride free. "Buck began his service on the Motorcycle Riders Foundation Board of Directors as Supporting State Motorcyclists' Rights Organization Board Member in 1995 when Mark Buckner was MRF President. "The Motorcycle Riders Foundation, and all of biker's rights, has lost a great leader," said Buckner. "Buck was a good friend and a better man. I'll miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carolyn and the Kittredge family ."Buck served two years as Vice President before taking over as MRF President at the Meeting of the Minds in Lansing, Michigan last September. MRF Vice President Chuc Coulter has stepped in as Interim President as the organization continues to advance the hard work and dedication of Buck and many others to preserve the rights and freedoms of street motorcyclists nationwide.
